MICHAEL COLITTI, SPHR
With a background in a variety of businesses, Michael has a vast amount of firsthand experience as a leader, manager,
motivator, and trainer. His career includes 20 years of Human Resources and Operations Management at major employers
including Dayton Hudson, Robinsons May, and the Department of Defense.
Michael started his career in Operations Management where he was responsible for locations with sales topping $30
million and an employee base of over 200. For the past 10 years Michael has devoted his career solely to Human
Resources, the last 5 years as an independent consultant helping small to medium clients with all of their HR
needs.
Michael is different from most Human Resources professionals. Because of his operational background, Michael has a
unique perspective when it comes to helping clients. He understands the challenges managers and business owners
face on a daily basis because he was there. His approach to developing HR processes takes into account not
just labor codes and laws, but also the business environment, the challenges specific to the organization, and the
bottom line. He is a firm believer that, even in California, employers have rights!
Michael received certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society for Human Resources
Management in 2002. He also holds graduate certifications in Management from Pepperdine University and Executive
Leadership from Old Dominion University. He is currently a member of the Society for Human Resource Management
(SHRM) and Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA).
